Attention

I have a hard time describing ‘attention’ or ‘being focused’. I’m not sure what it is exactly, but I do recognise it when I see it.
Focus is the difference between walking around with a broom and cleaning the floor. It is the difference between participating in a meeting or putting your body in a chair at the start of the meeting and leaving at the end. It is the distinction between bidding someone a ‘good day’ or wishing someone a good day.
Attention or the absence of it: it makes all the difference in the world.
